Reflections From Our CEO
Gareth Healy
40 years young…. what an achievement, and what an exciting time to be part of this great company.
The past few years have brought significant change - not just in our operations, but in how we see our role in the wider world. From shifting market demands to the growing urgency around sustainability, adaptation has been key to our journey.
In fact, the Healy Group has been evolving since its inception by my father, Maurice in 1985, only 40 short years ago.
And this is the theme that I would like to focus on, our collective willingness to adapt to change in an ever-uncertain landscape.
Climate change is now a reality we all face. As a food ingredient supplier, we’re seeing first-hand how it impacts crop cycles and the livelihoods of farming communities across the globe.
While ESG has become a global movement, it has been part of our approach for many years.
Our offices and distribution centres have been net contributors to the energy grid for over a decade through our solar power systems. Our commercial team operates a fully electric fleet, and where we can’t eliminate emissions directly, we partner with Carbon Neutral Britain to offset our Scope 3 emissions through certified UN climate programs.
We are hugely proud of the charity and community support that we engage in as part of the Healy Foundation. It is important that the whole team have a voice in who we support, and we will continue to try and make a difference where we can.
There have been many changes to our team throughout our 40 years, we are lucky to have had so many wonderful people work with us at Healy’s. This year we celebrate Sinead’s 20th anniversary working with us. A stalwart of our finance department over the years, thank you, Sinead!
Finally, I would like to thank the whole team for their continued willingness to challenge norms and push boundaries. It is the only way we will continue to innovate to make food healthier, more sustainable, more accessible, and of course, tastier.

Smarter Ingredients For a Changing World, Dublin
We were delighted to once again host our Innovation Day at the Teagasc Research Centre in Ashtown, Dublin.
The day centred around four key trends currently shaping the food industry: gut health, reformulating for lower fat, sugar and salt, sustainability, and processing - with discussions, demonstrations, and insights designed to spark ideas and drive innovation.
We were joined by our fantastic partners, BENEO and Millbio, who presented alongside Sinead O’Mahony, Reformulation Task Force Manager at the Food Standards Authority of Ireland.
The Innovation BBQ, Coalville
On 5th June, we were delighted to welcome customers to Healy Group UK for our very first Innovation BBQ - a new format event for us!
Despite the (very typically British) weather, the day was a great success. We brought together customers, industry experts, and supplier partners under one roof for a packed agenda filled with live tastings straight from the food truck, in-depth trend insights, and presented our ingredient solutions. The atmosphere was buzzing with ideas, conversations, and plenty of inspiration for upcoming projects.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so memorable.

Reflection on 20 Years at Healy Group - Sinead Dempsey
Reflecting on my journey it’s incredible to see how far both I and the business has come. I started out as an account’s assistant wearing many hats & eager to learn. Those early days were full of opportunities, challenges & growth.
I was fortunate to work under Maurice Healy, our CEO at the time, who’s leadership had a positive impact on my career. Maurice believed in empowering people and encouraged me to develop, take initiative, and expand in my role, then eventually progressing, with the mentoring of Anthony Healy into the position of Management Accountant.
Like many businesses, we faced turbulent times - none more than the crash in 2008, it was a defining period that tested our resilience adaptability & teamwork. I built friendships I still value today.
A standout moment in my career was becoming a director in 2017.
Today, I have the pleasure of working under Gareth Healy and it’s been inspiring to see the company evolve under the new generation of leadership. Growing not just in size but in vision innovation & ambition. The journey continues and I remain as passionate as ever about our success and the role I play in it.
Beyond the titles and milestones, my greatest motivation comes from a personal place: my son. Every challenge I take on, every goal I strive for, is driven by desire to make him proud.
Twenty years & continuing to build legacy, growth, integrity & inspiration.
My motto in life: Be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle.

Charitable Donations
Charity means a lot to us at Healy Group – we aim to make a meaningful difference by backing charities that resonate personally with our colleagues.

We're delighted to be the headline sponsor of the Steps Summer Soiree this August.
Steps is a charity that means a great deal to us, having provided invaluable support to the family of one of our team members. We are proud to stand by such an amazing cause and contribute to their life-changing work.

We were proud to donate to Jack as he ran the length of the UK for Rett UK - a charity close to us at Healy Group, especially Genna, whose niece Poppy (pictured) is affected by Rett syndrome.

Anthony and Sinead gave a presentation at Citywise Education’s careers evening, sharing advice on the working world, recruitment, job searching, and the importance of learning and development.
